1. Magic Always Has a Cost
Spellweaving draws transforms power from Consciousness.
The act of weaving music into magic is a transaction of everything that makes the song of the Soul-Key governed by the subjective Weight of Value.
This entire principle of transaction for fuel as energy, memories, emotions, lifespan, blood, etc. is governed by the principle of Essence Sacrifice, where the stronger the Resonance of the fuel and the intent of the spell, the most powerful it will be.
However, paying prices of Miracle Magic requires a heavy cost to rewrite fate itself. There are many means to decrease the prices from practice, to understanding The Principles of Magic, to feeling the music of your soul through the Key of Attunement, to offloading the power of the spell through Emotional Authenticity. However, the act of singing against the Void costs in the dynamics and energy of your existence.
2. Certain Spellweaving is Forbidden Magic or Taboo
The Great Harmonic Loom doesn't have a Consciousness, only the caster does.
Civics and acceptance of Spellweaving depends on an axis of Consonance and Dissonance. There are many practices that are considered forbidden or taboo by most Civilizations which tend to filter anything that is overly dangerous, destructive, indiscriminate, unpredictable, gruesome, cruel, or otherwise unsustainable.
The entire lists of Forbidden Magic is vast given the flexibility of Spellweaving but it primarily considers anything that is heavily dissonant and amoral. The Registers of Magic contains all types of magic divided by Tessituras and the Dissonance application of various types of magic. There is no "evil element" there only is the harmful application of intent of any branch of magic. All types of magic can be Forbidden Magic under the right conditions and with the intent of subjugation.
Consent is usually the dividing line between Dissonance and Consonance, for a vaccine, the difference between a poison and a cure is dosage and what is contained within the needle to what purpose, not the needle itself.
3. Magic Cannot Create Something from Nothing
As seen with the principle of Essence Sacrifice, Spellweaving can transform, manipulate, or transfer, but not truly create.
4. Emotional Instability Affects Spellweaving
This section is fundamental as The Principles of Magic are governed by Consciousness, psychology, and the bindings of states, the primary ones related to emotion are Emotional Authenticity which translates the gradient of impact from an object, Key of Attunement as identity and personal alignment, and Perfect Focus which requires maintaining peace of mind amidst the chaos of the ongoing storm.
No deity, mortal, Pure Light being or otherwise existence can bypass the emotional imprint that governs existence as Consciousness predates matter.
5. Magic Leaves Traces Behind
Powerful spells, and emotions leave imprints of Emotional Residue which are combination of Flux and Strand that tend to be detected as Strand Pools of many types. These traces are the basis and founding blocks for Detective Magic. These properties exhibit the following complex characteristics:
- The Strand Pools born from Emotional Residue scale proportionally to the intensity of how many lives were affected and the intensity of the emotions felt. This is the principle of how psychology becomes geology as these Strand Pools can sublimate into Memory Fields on very strong Emotional Residue.
- As the Emotional Residue are Strand Pools there are some that can collapse into a massive Soliton that sometimes becomes a Time Bubble which is both dangerous and a perfect preservation of a paradox stuck in the past.
- Emotional Residue is the main trace left behind on any Spellweaving, which makes spells have a trace beneath depending on the type of fuel and emotion it was using governed by the binding of Emotional Authenticity and Essence Sacrifice.

It can be amplified through objects that carry Echoing Bonds such as belongings that meant something to that person, personal gifts, etc. This expands to Magical Relics and Cursed Objects on Ages IV. The detection of Emotional Residue is the basis for Detective Magic and following trails. The technique was pioneered by Cordelia when following Amadea through the Waltz of Wandering Love that established Echoing Bonds between both of them.
- Emotional Residue has a complex relationship with Pure Light beings given their vitality and emotional nature, some of these creatures can track precisely Emotional Residue and sometimes they even digest the Strand Pools as seen with the Memory Singers. However, this also became the basis of Velvet Nectar on its most macabre and twisted applications.
- Pure Light beings that detect or heavily rely in Emotional Residue are considered as Spiritual Tracers given their relationship to Strand and Echoing Bonds. The higher Pure Light over Auric Structure the more potent they are as a Spiritual Tracer, but of course this comes at the disadvantages of not being adaptable.
- Some Atonalis also weaponize this principle for their own parasitic Resonance and tracking which victims have a wound frequency that mirrors their own.
- Emotional Residue can be analyzed through highly sophisticated lenses of a "time microscope" that can read even the smallest imprint of Strand Pools. This is the counter measure to Illusory Magic to detect the exact state of the Emotional Authenticity left regardless of what Luminance may visibly signal.
- Divine Emotional Residue is the most potent type of Emotional Residue, as seen with the Auric Aria whose actions in the First Reset make the ideas of everything that happened in the Old Testament bleed through the first Prophets of the Auric Order. Keeping core ideas such as the Seven Dark Fates, the Ark of Genesis, Paradise Lost, the lost Library of Heaven's Tower, and other similar ideas such as the concept of demons, who are mistakenly grouped with Atonalis and fallen Auric Angels, and the concept of the day of judgement in the split of heaven above vs hell below through the Celestial Vault.
Furthermore, the Strand Pools of Emotional Authenticity is why Humanity in Arcanoria can't remember facts as much as they remember feelings. It mirrors real-world psychology where a person doesn't remember the data you said in the words, but how those words made them feel.
