Constellation

"Death is just the day of the publication of your Magnum Opus."

All Constellations live in a spectrum between Constellations of Consonance and Constellations of Dissonance. This alignment depends on whether they were "good" or "evil" during their lifetime as a Legend. The specific alignment depends on the type of Legend Opus and Legend Titles they have:

  • Mixture of Consonance and Dissonance: Cadmus Tacet which is a complex moral character as he had great Legend Opus like the Scalpel of Humanity's Hope, but also horrific Legend Titles due to the means he used to achieve said goals, like The Vivisector due to his brutal methods on mapping the Pure Light spectrum. Most Constellations are placed in this bracket as a mixture of both.

Depending on the specific pairings on which Constellations are receiving Constellation Worship, they can unlock several effects, and the mixture between Consonance and Dissonance is a fertile ground for friction and unique Syncretism. Furthermore, Constellations can change their affinity to either Consonance or Dissonance through Mythic Drift by adapting to the new ways on which they receive their specific Constellation Worship.

Finally, Constellations of great Constellation Renown and Constellation Worship can have the ability of Reincarnation due to having a strong tether between Arcanoria and The Eternal Symphony. This allows a character to be reborn in Ages different from the ones in their original mythos. They receive some bonus to their starting Legend Traits based on their defining Constellation, but are effectively "reset" of all their memories and previous titles. They are a blank canvas that shares the same character Soul-Key and name, considering both their original starting Legend Traits and physical looks. They are back the moment before they began their original Legend. Moreover, some Dissonance Legend Traits can be removed of their origin to accommodate to a new life. For example, removing "Orphan" from Mira since she has an actual family now.

Reincarnation is a mechanic destined to give the Civilization a chance to grow a stronger Constellation through Syncretism and give them a different "ending" with unique Legend Opus and different Legend Traits. Of course, whenever a Constellation is undergoing Reincarnation, they are not available to the Stellar Legacy Score until they die again and become a Constellation with the new set of Legend Opus and Legend Titles. Their specific World Truths however will be permanent independent of whether they are in Reincarnation. They just can't form Stellar Covenants for the Ages where they experience being a mortal because they're temporarily not a Constellation anymore.

Reincarnation can only be triggered after the Constellation has experienced at least three Ages being a Constellation. Furthermore, the process itself is costly and requires a strong tether of Resonance between Arcanoria and The Eternal Symphony. Thus, Reincarnation can only happen during an Age Transition, and its dependent on the slots Civilization has unlocked for Reincarnation. The default state is up to two concurrent Reincarnations but after learning The Truth of Arcanoria the slots can be expanded and its cooldowns of three Ages can be reduced.
