This is the third classical Civilization of Arcanoria representing the Regalia Pillar, it was founded by the White Chested Fox, Sak Tahn Waax, during Ages I, and it holds the great city of Babmer K'ahn-Jing, one of the most prosperous ports with golden canals in sync with Cosmic Motion.
The city is a combination of Mayan/Chinese/Egypt/Babylonia based on the study of core Civics.
- Ideograms of glyphs as language instead of an alphabet to express ideas (Chinese Characters/Hieroglyphs)
- The presence of Cosmic Motion scholars and the division of the Lunar Calendar plus astrology to determine the validity of the people in power.
- They have a hierarchy based on knowledge as a technocracy with the highest seat being the K'ahn, after the mythical founder and astrologist of Sak Tahn.
- Zenith Exams as the imperial examination exam that dictates the proficiency of people, while they don't have slaves being a menial worker is essentially a slave job, the emancipation comes only from the mind, although most lower classes are inevitably excluded from higher forms of education and end up being slaves due to their "lack of knowledge" in a flawed meritocracy.
- Glyphic aqueducts and the use of highly advanced mathematics for having control of water, this is the direct inspiration for Iridia's own waterworks systems and only gets outpaced whenever Xian-K'in falls into stagnation.
Major Settlements: Babmer K'ahn-Jing (Capital), Lol-Ha' (The Lotus Water City), Akkad-Tzak (Hanging Gardens), Uruxian, Tzolkhem, and Ahnkzhou.
Additional facts
- K'ahn is a combination of K'an meaning gold in mayan, and a play on Khan.
- Alongside Hollowmarch in Ages II they are allies as both are aligned to Aureus Pillar Regalia Pillar, but during Ages V they side with Iridia on the war as they become Chorus Pillar Regalia Pillar.
- The Great Plague is what cements the Regalia Pillar of Xian-K'in after realizing that power can't be free or in the moths after having a heavy toll including the fall of Aberchord. It hit both Xian-K'in and Aeolion very deeply, but Xian-K'in managed to make it with less losses due to the Atrocity they committed redacting names out of the Auric Order and similar tactics to control the Great Plague.
- The name Babmer K'ahn-Jing is the scholar name of the city, regular people name it Kahnjing, and foreigners tend to simplify the name to Kanjing. This division on the missing h is the core identifier of people who are not from Xian-K'in. It means Bab (Door from Mesopotamian, Mer from Egypt for Sea, K'ahn from mayan gold and its original ruler, Jing from Chinese of capital city translating to the Golden Door of the Sea referring to the Trade Nexus it is and one of the greatest ports in Arcanoria with gilded canals.
- The commoners of the sovereignty, even when speaking quickly or informally, would naturally retain the breathy "h" sound because it is baked into their linguistic DNA, echoing the Tahn of their founder. It shows that while they drop the pretentious scholarly prefixes, they still belong to the culture. Kanjing (The Foreigner's Blunder): Traders from neighboring realms, or survivors from Aeolion, would completely miss the subtle glottal breath of the "h." They would flatten the word into a hard, blunt Kanjing. This gives the Astrologer-Prefects an immediate, phonetic way to identify an outsider the second they open their mouth. This is something Lenore says to Amadea when she goes to the city, she should at minimum out effort in the h to be respected
- Alongside the Realm of Aeolion, which is the birthplace of Amadea that collapses during the Great Plague, Xian-K'in is also featured in the early parts of the novel and during the movement of The Shattering. It's Lenore's study place, and it presents the first conflicts of Amadea with the aristocracy. She takes off from the port of Babmer K'ahn-Jing to reach the main continent of Movement 2.
- K'ahn as ruler title, Sak Tahn Waax is the first ruler ever and who establishes the golden port or K'ahn-Jing
