- _"Oh, don’t look so solemn! I’m not going anywhere just yet, but someone will be born the day after I die." She said, in that familiar glint of their eyes with the mask in between her hands, with a voice dipping into vulnerability.
"And that truth carries more strength than the Weight of Change I have spent my entire life chasing. Just think about it, neither you nor I were the first Legend, and we will, definitely, not be the last — but that one note, your note, is yours alone in The Eternal Symphony, and don’t pretend you don’t feel it humming in your chest right now." She tilts her head, reading the answer before it came, yet softened enough to drop the act.
"I spent so long telling myself I was nothing more than an echo. But I realized you can't echo nothing— I knew that, really, I just couldn't escape the tragedy of it. The fact that I survived, that I'm still here, still carving, still playing, still laughing with you... that's my note. Small. Maybe imperfect. But undeniably mine. And so is yours." A pause, then that sly smile again, as if they she hadn't just given her own mask away.
"Now, stop looking at me like that, or I'll start thinking you actually believe me!"
Quotes
On her Soul Oscillator: “It plays songs I’ve heard. And now, sometimes, it plays songs I’m still learning. I don’t know where they end, and that’s fine. A song doesn’t need to be finished to be real.”
Romance Ballad
The romance unfolds in beats:
- First Meeting: She teases the Legend musically without introduction. She is curious, not impressed.
- First Crack: She plays a note that is clearly about herself, then stops and won’t explain. The Legend hears her before she is ready to be heard.
- The Deflection: When things get too close, she pivots to a joke or leaves. The Legend can chase or give space—both choices build trust.
- The Confession: She speaks without the Oscillator for the first time, tells the Legend something she has told no one. The voice she hides becomes the voice she trusts them with.
- The Mutual Tease: The Legend gives her a taste of her own medicine. She is delighted and thrown off—she didn’t expect to be the one seen.
- The Climax: She carves her own mask and shows it to the Legend before burying it. She no longer hides; she shares.
