What Amadea keeps about you and why, who else can see it, and how to have it corrected or erased.

This policy explains how Polarys Interactive SAS de CV (“we”, “us”), the studio behind Amadea: Sonata of the Violet Empress, handles personal information when you use amadeasonata.com: reading the Sonata, taking the personality tests, playing the Tessitura’s instruments, joining the community features or signing in with Patreon.
Public reading and many creative tools work without an account. Most reading preferences stay on your device until you sign in. Technical requests still reach our host, and saving a Forge reading, posting a comment, offering a wish or publishing a star sends the information needed for that feature to our server.

In short: Only what the features you use need: what you give us, what Patreon tells us when you sign in, the technical details every request carries, and what your own browser keeps.
Whether or not you sign in, your browser keeps reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, kept words, test results and unfinished tests, grimoire and language, theme, audio and reader settings. Eligible chapters can be kept offline. Sign-in enables supported sync; saving a Forge reading or publishing sends its data even without an account. The Pillar Alignment answers and results stay in your browser.
IONOS receives your IP address, requested page or file, time, referring page when supplied, and browser, operating-system and device information. Hosting logs support delivery, fault diagnosis and security. Our application also stores hashed address or account markers for abuse controls and a browser-description hash and activity timestamps for sessions. These application records are separate from hosting statistics; hashing does not make every record anonymous.
We do not install advertising or browser analytics scripts or create advertising profiles. IONOS hosting may also produce SiteAnalytics statistics from request logs for traffic measurement and technical optimization. IONOS describes its SiteAnalytics processing as cookie-free, with IP addresses anonymized after transmission. That does not mean your original connection or our account and security records are anonymous.
We do not ask for sensitive information such as your health, religious or political beliefs or sexual orientation. The Pillar Alignment political test is scored and kept only in your browser; its answers and results are never sent to us. The other tests explore personality and the wishes explore desire, so please choose what you write in a wish, comment or profile with that in mind.
In short: To run the features you choose to use, to keep the site secure and to meet legal obligations; never for advertising, and never to sell.
The Leitmotif Forge, the Pillar Alignment and the Motif Awakening turn your answers into a reading automatically. Those readings are for you: they open nothing, cost nothing and are never used to make decisions about you.
We do not send newsletters or marketing email. If that ever changes, it will be only with your permission.
In short: We use your information only where the law allows it: because you asked for a feature, because you consented, because of a legitimate interest that does not override yours, or because the law requires it.
We rely on your express consent, or on consent implied by your using a feature: posting a comment, for example, means it will be shown. You can withdraw consent at any time. In limited cases the law allows processing without consent, such as investigating fraud or complying with a court order.
Polarys Interactive SAS de CV is based in Mexico and handles your information in keeping with Mexican data protection law, which gives you the rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition described in section 10.
In short: With Patreon for membership, IONOS for website and database hosting, and other readers for public contributions. We never sell it.
We operate from Mexico. IONOS infrastructure and its service providers, and Patreon, may process information outside your country. Hosting locations depend on the contracted IONOS service; this policy does not promise storage exclusively in Mexico or any single country. In short: One cookie that keeps you signed in, one that lasts a few minutes while you sign in, and your browser’s own storage for your progress and settings. No tracking or advertising cookies.
Sign-in cookies support authentication; browser storage supports the features you choose. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Browser controls can block or clear site data. Delete all information in The Conductor and Erase everything in the data notice clear the local data described in section 15; they do not cancel Patreon billing or erase our server records. Sign out separately to revoke your session.
We do not let third parties place analytics, advertising or social media trackers on the site. Read-aloud uses your browser or operating system speech service; depending on the selected voice, that provider may process the text remotely under its own privacy terms.
In short: Public account sign-in uses Patreon. We receive identity and membership details to establish your access.
When you choose to sign in, you are sent to Patreon, which asks you to let Amadea see your identity and your membership. We then receive your Patreon user ID, full name and email address, and your membership status and pledge level for Amadea. We never receive your Patreon password or your payment details.
Your email address is never shown on the site or to other readers, and we use what Patreon sends only as this policy describes. Patreon’s own use of your information is governed by its privacy policy, and you can remove Amadea’s access from your Patreon account at any time.
In short: Retention depends on the record: account and community data, security records, hosting logs and backups have different purposes and lifetimes. Account erasure does not remove all retained records.
Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days, unfinished sign-ins after ten minutes, and rate-limit counts once their window has passed. Everything else tied to your account is kept until you ask us to erase it.
Account erasure deletes sessions, synchronised reading data, settings, saved Forge readings, Legend profiles and Soul Oscillator projects, and clears the account name, email and tier. The account record retains its Patreon user ID and timestamps. Returning through Patreon can reactivate that record, so retained votes and public records are not anonymous merely because the account name was cleared.
Some records remain after the account-erasure action, subject to applicable privacy rights and any separate removal request:
IONOS documents daily MySQL/MariaDB system backups retained for 14 days for Web Hosting. A database deletion can therefore remain in a pre-deletion backup during that cycle. This is a system-backup window, not the retention period of active account records or separately exported copies.
IONOS publishes a maximum eight-week access-log period for Web Hosting contracts purchased before July 21, 2026. Its newer-contract documentation does not give that same limit, so we do not apply it to every hosting log. Contact contact@amadeasonata.com for the period applicable to a particular request or retained record.
Anonymous Forge readings and public contributions have no automatic age-based deletion in the application. Include the relevant link when requesting removal. Backup copies are for recovery; when restoring one, we must reapply completed erasure or restriction requests before returning the affected data to ordinary use. Separate exports are handled according to their recovery purpose or any documented legal retention need.
In short: With technical and organisational measures sized to what we hold, though no website can promise perfect security.
The public site uses HTTPS to encrypt browser connections. Session tokens and anonymous comment keys are stored as hashes, and server endpoints check access before releasing restricted data. IONOS operates the hosting infrastructure; browser encryption does not by itself establish encryption of every database connection, stored record or backup.
Even so, no transmission over the internet and no storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorisation. Please keep your Patreon account secure, and sign out on devices you share.
In short: Amadea is written for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Parts of the Sonata and its Expanded Universe carry mature themes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from, or market to, anyone under 18, or under the age of majority where they live. By signing in or posting you confirm you are at least that age. If we learn that we hold information from a minor, we will close the account and delete the information promptly. In short: Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or restrict the use of your information, withdraw consent, and complain to a regulator.
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase your account, by writing to contact@amadeasonata.com. We will confirm the request comes from the account holder before acting on it, and we aim to reply within 30 days, or sooner where the law where you live requires.
You have the right to access your information and receive a copy of it, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how it is used, to data portability, and not to be subject to decisions with legal or similarly significant effects made solely by automated means. None of the site’s automated readings has such an effect.
You may access and correct your information and withdraw your consent, subject to legal and contractual limits.
You may request access, rectification, cancellation or opposition (ARCO), revoke consent or limit use or disclosure by writing to contact@amadeasonata.com. Include your name, a reply address, the data or feature concerned and the action requested; a Patreon account is needed only for Patreon-linked records. We may request proportionate proof of identity or representation. Mexican law generally provides 20 working days to communicate a decision and 15 more to implement an approved request, subject to lawful extensions. You may approach the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno for applicable data protection remedies.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by withdrawing what you posted where the site lets you, or by writing to us. Withdrawing does not affect anything done lawfully before, or processing we carry out on another legal basis.

In short: We do not track you across websites, so there is nothing for a Do-Not-Track signal to switch off.
We do not use cross-site advertising tracking or sell or share information for targeted advertising. Do-Not-Track does not disable essential requests, security logs or the hosting statistics described in section 1. You can contact contact@amadeasonata.com to exercise any applicable objection or restriction rights.
In short: Several US states give you the right to know about, access, correct and delete your information. We do not sell it or share it for targeted advertising.

We collect no payment, biometric, precise location, employment or education information. We use personal information only for the purposes in section 2 and disclose it only as section 4 describes. We have not sold personal information or shared it for targeted advertising, and we will not.
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know whether we process your information and to access it; to correct it; to delete it; to obtain a copy; to opt out of its sale, of targeted advertising and of significant profiling (none of which we do); and not to be treated differently for using these rights. To use them, write to contact@amadeasonata.com. An authorised agent may make a request for you with your signed permission, and we will verify every request before acting on it. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our decision; if the appeal is refused, you may contact your state attorney general.
California’s “Shine the Light” law lets residents ask whether we have disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing. We have not.
In short: We will update this policy when the site or the law changes, and the date at the top will say when.
If we make a significant change, such as collecting something new or using information in a new way, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. The current version is always at this address.
